Everything you need to know about the Belt Buckle Challenge Series
Yes! You can absolutely just shoot for fun.
Yes! Watch for website updates on sponsorships and station prizes!
Yes; club rules for carts, ammo, gun safety etiquette, dogs and smoking apply at each venue. Eye and ear protection are required. Same as it ever was.
No! The three separate 100-target shoots will get progressively more challenging. Each shoot is an NSCA Registered Shoot, open to Hunter Class (non-members) . New and beginner shooters are welcome!
The Series opener at Longmeadow on June 20th will be the best chance for high scores. The second event at Kiowa Creek on August 2nd will be more difficult. And the third event at Colorado Clays on September 12th will have some harder targets, perfect to prepare shooters for State. All three of the 100-target events will carry the same weight with regard to qualifying for the Belt Buckle Championship Shoot-off, which will take place on September 12th after lunch and the Live Auction at Colorado Clays.
Call Dr. Bruce Evans, 303-803-4792, to ask about sponsorships, media and direct marketing opportunities.

Right after lunch and the Auction (with the Sweepstakes A400 giveaway) at Colorado Clays on September 12th, 2026.
Costs are way up this year, including lunch ($30), targets ($60), venue & equipment rentals, insurance, marketing, fees (from the IRS, NSCA, the State of Colorado, ScoreChaser, etc.). Heck, even flyers and banners cost more! All of the Advisory Board are volunteers, and the new trailer was donated. No profit is built into the registration cost for individual shooters; all proceeds donated to Camp Wapiyapi will be generated from Sponsorships and the Live Auction.
Individual registration entry fees are not tax deductible because the entry fees are priced at 'break even' compared to the cost of hosting the event.
The IRS does not allow a tax deduction for entry fees that are priced at or below the value received. Any additional donation made over/above the entry fee is tax deductible!
Sponsorship fees can be expensed by the sponsor as a marketing expense or as a donation (Belt Buckle Challenge is a 501c3). Ask your tax advisor for details.
New this year; There is no deposit required/requested on ScoreChaser.com, and no fee for cancelation. (Those who canceled last year got their deposits refunded.)

Individual Shooters qualify for the Belt Buckle shoot-off with their best two event scores (best of 200 possible points), even if the individual shoots all three of the 100-target events.
The Belt Buckle shoot-off is right after lunch on the same day as the 3rd shoot in the series; 9/12/26 at Colorado Clays.
Shoots are 'rain or shine', at each venue. In the event of severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances which cause the hosting club to cancel the event, registration fees will be refunded if the event cannot be rescheduled for the following day.
Yes; these shoots are NSCA-registered events, (with class punches and NSCA points for the 100/Main events and the 50-target add on options at each venue).
Lunch and non-alcoholic beverages are included with registration fees for all three events!
The five top Individual shooters, as determined by the sum of their best TWO scores over the three 100-target events (i.e. best of 200 possible points) qualify for the 5-stand shoot-off at Colorado Clays on September 12th. The top five includes all tied scores for a total of five individuals who can qualify for the championship. One Belt Buckle will be awarded to the winner of the individual shooters shoot-off.
Yes! Volunteer will be welcomed and well fed - watch the website for details on how to sign up as a volunteer. Shifts for volunteers are 7-9am and 11:30-2pm, so volunteers can still shoot the Main/100. Volunteers earn one extra Sweepstakes ticket per event/venue that they work.
